I started powerlifting in college when I was having some hip and knee issues and was advised to stop pole vaulting. I did a couple of local USAPL competitions and eventually qualified for my first national competition in 2018. During this time, I moved from Wisconsin to Tacoma and then to the Kitsap Peninsula where I started working out at The Factory. The gym felt like home the minute I walked in and, after about a year, I was able to start working part time as an assistant trainer after my day job in IT. Now, I am lucky enough to work full time at the gym as a NASM-CPT, USAPL-CC and am training alongside an incredible group of coaches. I am incredibly excited to see what the future holds both in my powerlifting career and at my favorite place, The Factory Fitness Center.

As a kid, I did martial arts and played baseball all the way through high school which helped me foster my passion for fitness. I enjoyed lifting, but my competitive nature led me to 6 years of training and competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I’ve always seen the gym as a place for happiness and unwinding rather than a possible career. However, after a mutual friend introduced me to Jesse and Kendall, I knew I was home. To me, my biggest fitness related accomplishments are the accomplishments of others. It is beyond rewarding to see people put in the work, trust the process and reap the rewards of their hard work.

-Personal Trainer/ Corrective Exercise Specialist

A Bremerton-born local, I acquired my first training certification from the International Sports Sciences Association in 2005 and have worked with a varied clientele ever since. After spending 13 years as a gym employee working in office management, I opted to eschew the spreadsheets and facility management for what I truly loved doing; training. Directly after leaving my long-term employment and starting my own training business, I figured I would tackle college… all in the same year. The journey has been a long one but very rewarding and I’ve been so excited to share my knowledge and passion for fitness with others.

Beginning in 2016, I began training at The Factory and have watched the gym grow and flourish. Specializing in corrective exercise, I thoroughly enjoy getting my clients moving better with more mobility and stability. If you see me at the gym, please feel free to talk shop as I love discussing all things fitness, especially corrective work and performance improvement. See you around the gym!

Growing up in California I was a chubby kid who was always self conscious of my body and how I looked. After moving to Washington, I joined my school’s wrestling team and began to learn diet and weight training. This led me to become fascinated with the human body and its ability to change from nutrition and exercise. I consumed as much knowledge as I could about proper ways to exercise and eat, so that I could improve my body and feel more comfortable and confident. This journey led me to The Factory Fitness Center over 6 years ago where I continued my own training. Opportunities arose that enabled me to join The Factory’s team and now I have the privilege to help others achieve their dreams. I find it extremely rewarding seeing the success of others and I feel honored to be a part of their journey.

-Jack-of-all-trades

Fitness and I have had an on and off relationship throughout most of my life. Though I have always been active, it was not until I found The Factory and its team that I’ve had sustained success sticking to a program. It really goes to show how important the people around you can be to your overall success. Unlike fitness, with its on and off appeal early in my life, cleaning is something that I have always enjoyed and excelled at. As a matter of fact, it was my aptitude for cleaning and organizing that led me to my current position as both a member and an employee at The Factory. What started as a few hours per week quickly turned into a part time job doing what I am good at with people, staff, and clients alike, who appreciate my contributions. I truly enjoy every moment I spend at The Factory and look forward to continuing to share in the dreams of Jesse, Kendall, and the rest of The Factory’s team in the future.

I found a love for fitness at 15 years old when I started working out for high school sports. I continued my fitness journey throughout my naval career and started powerlifting at the age of 20. Unfortunately, 2 years ago, I got a back injury while deadlifting. I’m switching it up and now getting into bodybuilding and overall health and mobility.

I found the Factory during covid and immediately fell in love with the gym, its staff, and its members. I loved seeing the grind of the same faces everyday getting after their dreams and aspirations. I always wanted to work for a gym someday and when I had the opportunity to work at The Factory, it was a no-brainer.
